Studies indicate that breast implants, whether saline-filled, silicone gel-filled, or gummy bear, placed behind the breast tissue have up to a sixty-seven percent chance of capsular contracture throughout the life of the implant if proper aftercare measures aren't taken postop. Capsular contracture occurs when the normal production of scar tissue, which develops around all breast implants, thickens and shrinks the size of the implant pocket, placing the implant under tension. This can lead to a painful disfiguration and result in a much firmer feel than the desirable natural breast. Surgeons who incorporate our product with every breast augmentation experience a capsular contracture rate of less than one percent. The BCD is surgeon-created and has been time-tested for the prevention and elimination of capsular contracture.
